MCG 7030 — Touch Panel Alarm Monitor

Overview

MCG 7030

For terminal operators, safety managers, compliance officers, and operations leaders who need reliable, real-time alarm visibility, data logging, and seamless integration across their facility, the MCG 7030 Touch Panel Alarm Monitor provides a versatile and comprehensive solution. This system visually displays, records, and communicates alarm conditions from sensor probes using a single 4-wire data highway that can monitor up to 128 alarm probes. Unlike basic alarm panels, the MCG 7030 functions as a complete remote data acquisition station, supporting both wired (MCG 1090) and wireless (MCG 1095) probes, thereby enabling integration into existing Gauging or SCADA systems. This helps operators reduce risk, improve response times, and ensure regulatory compliance.

MCG 7030

Features

Comprehensive Monitoring

Supports up to 128 alarm probes on a single 4-wire data highway, providing full coverage without requiring excessive, complex wiring.

Independent Control

The unit can also function as a controller, supporting up to 48 individually wired probes for applications demanding strict safety or redundancy.

Remote + Local Interfaces

Multiple communication ports allow alarm data to be sent directly into existing Gauging or SCADA systems, enabling both local visibility via the touch panel and remote notification.

Wireless Option & Self-Checking

Seamlessly integrates with the MCG 1095 Wireless Alarm Probe to offer a fully independent, encrypted, and spread-spectrum high-level alarm system with automatic self-testing features.

Regulatory Readiness

Meets stringent alarm requirements, including those of the EPA, and provides true self-testing when configured with compatible L&J probes.

FAQs

We have tried to answer the most common questions we are asked here.

The MCG 7030 is a versatile platform. It communicates with wired probes (like the MCG 1090) directly through a single, 4-wire data highway (multiplexing). For wireless integration, it communicates securely with the MCG 1095 Wireless Alarm Probes, allowing operators to leverage both technologies simultaneously within the same monitoring system.

The single 4-wire highway significantly reduces the amount of wiring needed compared to running individual wires for every alarm probe. This multiplexing capability cuts down installation costs, simplifies troubleshooting, and makes the system highly scalable for large tank farms (up to 128 probes).

When the MCG 7030 is paired with L&J’s compatible self-testing probes (like the MCG 1095), it utilizes the probe’s true mechanical self-check feature. The monitor initiates and logs the results of these physical tests, ensuring that the entire alarm system, not just the electronics, is fully functional and compliant.
