FAQs

We have tried to answer the most common questions we are asked here.

Magnetostrictive technology provides a true continuous, digital measurement by precisely detecting the position of a magnetic float along a wave guide. Unlike conventional systems that rely on mechanical linkages or incremental encoders, the MCG 1010M offers 0.001 inch resolution, meaning it provides a higher degree of precision and is less susceptible to mechanical wear or drift.

Yes. The receiver is equipped with Infrared Smart Calibration. This feature allows a field technician to use the intrinsically safe handheld MCG 2150 Remote Calibrator to program, calibrate, and diagnose the unit from ground level without opening the explosion-proof condulet.

The dual RTD input allows the receiver to gather precise temperature data from the tank. This is critical for custody transfer because product volume changes with temperature. The MCG 1010M can use this data to perform automatic Volume Correction Factor (VCF) calculations, ensuring the reported inventory is highly accurate and audit-ready.
