MCG 1095 — Wireless Level Alarm Probe

Overview

MCG 1095

Designed for tank farm operators, refinery and chemical plant engineers, terminal safety teams, compliance managers, and EPC contractors, the MCG 1095 delivers wireless, fully self-testing overfill protection for hazardous liquid storage.
Unlike conventional alarm probes that only test electrical continuity, the MCG 1095 physically lifts its displacer during every self-test—verifying true mechanical and electrical readiness. This ensures the alarm will function under real high-level conditions, not just simulated ones.
Its long-range wireless communication, powered by a long-life lithium battery, eliminates trenching, cabling, and installation downtime. When paired with the MCG 7030 Touch Panel Alarm Monitor, the probe supports automated scheduled testing, remote diagnostics, alarm reporting, and continuous battery-health monitoring.
Built for harsh industrial applications, the MCG 1095 uses rugged stainless-steel construction, corrosion-resistant components, optional nylon or graphite displacers, and explosion-proof housings certified for use in Class I, Div 1 hazardous areas. It provides a low-maintenance, compliant, and cost-effective overfill protection layer for any facility handling flammable, hazardous, or high-value liquids.

Features

True Mechanical Self-Testing

Physically raises the displacer to verify both mechanical movement and switch function, ensuring real alarm performance rather than simulated checks.

Wireless Long-Range Communication

Robust wireless operation supports long-distance communication across large or distributed tank farms without new cabling.

Remote Auto-Testing

Automated scheduled testing via the MCG 7030 allows alarms to be verified from the control room, improving reliability and reducing tank climbs.

Battery Monitoring

Battery-Powered & Maintenance-Efficient

A long-life lithium battery powers the probe, with built-in battery-status monitoring for proactive maintenance planning.

Explosion-Proof Safety

Designed for safe use in hazardous locations handling flammable or volatile liquids.

Flexible Alarm Configurations

Supports Hi, Hi-Hi, and Lo alarms with multiple I/O options and compatibility with multiplexed systems.

Details

The MCG 1095 is an essential safety component for a wide range of overfill protection, alarm, and tank safety applications—especially where wiring is costly or hazardous access is a concern.

FAQs

We have tried to answer the most common questions we are asked here.

A standard electronic test only verifies the electrical circuit is intact. The MCG 1095’s “true self-test” physically moves the displacer to confirm that both the mechanical and electrical components are functioning correctly. This physical verification provides a higher level of assurance that the alarm will work when a real overfill condition occurs.

The wireless function eliminates the need for expensive and time-consuming trenching, conduit runs, and wiring to each tank. This allows for quicker, less disruptive, and more cost-effective installation, especially for retrofits. It also enhances safety by reducing the need for personnel to work on high-voltage wiring in hazardous zones.

The probe is powered by a long-life lithium battery, typically lasting over a year. The MCG 1095 continuously monitors and reports its battery status to the connected system, such as the MCG 7030 Touch Panel. You receive an alert well in advance of a low-power condition, ensuring the probe is always operational and ready to protect your assets.

Yes. It is certified for safe operation in hazardous, flammable, and chemical storage environments.
